I said before that I feel like I live with a comedian. I love that Layton is at the age where he just says whatever he thinks. It doesn't really matter what it is, he has no filter.
This morning we went swimming after breakfast and play time, just like we have been doing almost every morning since I've been off work. Today we went to the pool at our regular time, usually we are the only ones there because everyone goes later in the afternoon. Today there was an older man at the pool that I didn't notice as soon as we walked in because he was laying down. Layton and I unpacked our stuff and jumped in the pool as we would everyday. We played on the stairs and then began to swim back and forth. When we made it to the other end of the pool Layton loudly yells, "Horse mommy!"I swing my head around to notice an old man laying face down in a THONG SPEEDO! His butt cheeks clearly visible and Layton was exactly right. His rear end resembled non other than a brown horse, kinda of like the one Layton has that goes with his farm! As I try to keep in my laughter and hope that the man doesn't hear, the old many jumps up and turns around. I'm assuming at this point because he's trying to find the horse! I try to swim back to the other side of the pool as quickly as possible but again my no filtered child then yells, "Where you pants?" At this point I busted out in laughter and the old man looked horrified. I have a feeling that we won't be seeing him at the pool during our swim time anymore. Or at least maybe next time he will wear pants to the pool! =)

Going to the beach
Layton just got done studying the beach as school. When his teachers first started talking about the beach Layton would tell them "No! Mommy!" He knew that Mommy and Sarah took him to the beach and so when they wanted to take an imaginary trip to the beach, he wasn't having it. Now everywhere we go we are going to the beach. The wood-chips at the park is the beach, the mountains, everything!
Yesterday when we were getting ready for the day Layton saw the Santa that my Dad and I pass back and forth when we travel to visit each other. He called it Papaw and then immediately started talking about getting on his shoes and socks so that he could we could go to the beach. I explained to Layton that maybe one day we could go to the beach and visit Grandma Judy and Grandpa Steve. Well that then turned into "Mamaw, Papaw, Mommy, Layton go beach!" Shoes, socks! Swimming, splash! Swimming shoes!" I love our conversations and how funny they become! I can't believe at 10 days short of 2 years old, we can have such fun conversations! =)

Time Out
I have made sure that I raised an independent child. With that being said, sometimes I think at the age of almost 2, I have made him a little too big for his britches. This morning Layton decided that it would be a great idea to wake up at 5am! Little does he realize that Mommy does not function until 7am! He has been quite the spitfire this morning due to his early morning rooster call!
Around 8:30 Layton started hitting, which is something that he has been getting in trouble for lately. I warned him and put him in timeout. I am use to Layton trying to get out of time out and I put him right back until his time is up. Today every time he got out of time out he took a piece of cereal out of his bowl, laughed and went back and sat down. I took the bowl away when I figured out what he was doing and kept watching the clock. Once the bowl was away and he sat his 2 minutes I went to talk with him about his hitting. As soon as I got there he put his head down and started to fake cry. I told him he has to have nice hands and be nice to Mommy. Still with his head down and fake whimpering he says, "Layton crying!" Little s**t is the only thought that went through my brain. He said he was sorry with his head down and then slowly looked up at me whimpered one more time and said "Layton crying, Mommy!" As soon as I went to talk to him he started laughing as loud as he could and ran away...
What have I gotten myself into?!?!?!?
